The Philippine Consulate General wishes to refer interested parties to the following information on the procedure to file an application for the Rentree Scolaire (Back to School allowance) appearing on the CCSI website (https://ccsi.ch/2021/06/03/nouveau-allocation-de-rentree-scolaire-pour-tous/).
1. A family with children attending school can apply to receive the Rentree Scolaire (back-to-school allowance); provided, the claimant lives in the city of Geneva (Postal code 1201 to 1209). Qualified residents, including those without a valid residence permit, may file a claim for the allowance.
2.It is a one-time payment to cover school expenses at the beginning of the school year in the form of a gift card that can be used to purchase school supplies. Beginning school year 2021-2022, those WITHOUT permits are eligible to receive the allowance subject to compliance with the requirements.
3.How to proceed -
IF WITH RESIDENCE PERMIT: Approach and coordinate with the authorities of the school where the child goes.
IF WITHOUT RESIDENCE PERMIT:
a. For primary school age children (up to 11 years old) - Make an appointment with CCSI (see contact info below)
b. For high school-age students (Cycle d'orientation, 12 -15 years old) - Approach the social worker assigned to the school where the child goes.
