While the COVID19 situation in the Philippines is improving, travel restrictions remain in place. The Interagency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases, the overarching body that determines national policy on COVID-19 response, continues to recommend the imposition of limits on arrivals.
Please be reminded of the following:
- Filipino nationals who hold valid Philippine passports or valid Philippine travel documents may travel to the Philippines.
- All visa-free privileges granted to foreign nationals are suspended. All foreign nationals, including former Filipinos (i.e., Filipinos who have not yet taken an oath to reacquire/retain their Philippine citizenship), require a visa to enter the Philippines. The Philippine Government will grant visas only for urgent and essential travel.
- Quarantine requirements upon arrival are also in place. Visit https://e-cif.redcross.org.ph/ for more information about some of the arrival formalities. For a list of hotels inspected by the Department of Health for quarantine purposes, visit http://quarantine.doh.gov.ph/.
The Philippine Consulate is issuing this reminder in view of an increasing number of inquiries related to travel during the upcoming holiday season. As the international community continues to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Consulate encourages everyone to adhere to current global, national, and local measures designed to help stop the spread of the virus and to travel only for urgent and essential cases, such as medical emergencies or deaths in the family.
The situation is being reviewed regularly.
