The Philippine Consulate General in Geneva received information today, 7 October 2020, that one of the staff members of the Philippine Mission to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva tested positive for COVID-19. The staff concerned does NOT perform any consular duties and is not in contact with applicants for consular services.
The premises of the Philippine Consulate and the Philippine Mission have been disinfected in line with public health guidelines. The staff is receiving appropriate medical attention and recovering in isolation.
In order to ensure the protection of the public, the Philippine Consulate will continue to strictly implement hygiene protocols for all individuals entering its premises and accept only those with confirmed appointments. Individuals whose transactions are not urgent are requested to defer their visit.
Those in emergency situations (e.g., victims of human trafficking or violence against women and children; deaths of Filipino nationals) do not need an appointment.
