The Philippine Consulate in Geneva and Vaud reminds individuals intending to the travel the Philippines of the following:
- The COVID19 situation in the Philippines is steadily improving. Imported cases of infection remain a concern, especially since they add strain to health system capacities.
- The Interagency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases, the overarching body that determines national policy on COVID-19 response, continues to recommend the imposition of limits on arrivals.
- Entry to the Philippines generally remains limited to holders of valid Philippine passports or travel documents. Visa-free privileges, including those granted to Swiss nationals and former Filipinos who have not yet reacquired/retained their Philippine citizenship, also remain suspended. Visas may be issued on a case-by-case basis for official purpose or for accompanying family members of Filipino nationals on urgent and essential travel to the Philippines.
- The situation is reviewed regularly. Travel restrictions are expected to ease as conditions continue to improve.
